15. Bears Shock Favre’s Minnesota Petersons in OT

Just when you give up hope and almost don’t even watch the game, the Bears go out on a Monday night and shock the world by beating what was the 3rd ranked team in the NFL.  And for the first time this year, we beat a team with more than 1 win, beating one with 11.  So f-ing what if the Vikes have gotten blown out 2 of their last 3 games, and each of their last 3 losses are to teams with 5 wins.  We’re now 6-9 bitches!  That means 7-9 is within reach, and that’s the best version of a losing record possible!

I don’t recall seeing the Bears win in OT on a long pass, but that’s how it went down as Devin Aromashodu became a household name in America (said like the “aroma should do” the job).  Minnesota inched back after falling behind 16-0, tying it twice and sending it to OT locked at 30.  But after missing a 45 yd FG, and sacking Favre two plays in a row, Hunter Hillenmeyer forced a Peterson fumble.  And on the next play, Cutler hit a wide open Aromashodu in stride on the goal line from the orange C at midfield, his 17th catch in the last 3 games.

The Cutler Supremacy
The Butler was solid, out-playing Favre in the process.  It’s a little late for redemption this year, but his 108 QBR (his second highest all season) bested Favre’s 106.  He threw a pick, but he also threw for 4 TD’s for only the third time in his career, including the one that won the game in OT.

A win against Detroit in the season finale next week would put us at 3-3 in the division.  And 7-9 sounds SO MUCH better than 6-10.  So…

Let’s go BEARS!  Let’s go BEARS!  Let’s go BEARS!
