Bear Down Baffa

Now THAT’S who I THOUGHT we were!  5 takeaways, 4 sacks, and a defensive TD – that’s what I expected this year (but every week).  It took the Bears 3 weeks, but once it broke open, the turnovers came in droves.  We scored early, and often, running out to a 28-0 lead before halftime.  The Troubador threw 3 TDs in the 2nd quarter, all caught by Taylor “Swift Is Hotter Than Peter” Gabriel (who also caught 3 non-TDs).  It was a laugher!  The Skins turned it over more than a short-order cook who moonlights as a blackjack dealer – and they didn’t even ask for dirt on their political opponents for it.  Those idiots!  And the Bears blindly accepted it, like the American people and a whistleblower’s testimony.  No, the Impeachment Inquiry wasn’t the only farce in Washington this week.  #Free Trump!

The Low Down
The Bears scored 31 points – 24 on offense!  Though we gave up over 350 yards, only 90 came in the 1st half, when WAS went:  pick-6, punt, missed FG, fumble, INT, FG.  Their 2nd half was better, but not by much:  INT, TD (missed 2-pt), TD (missed 2-pt), fumble.  Sure, that’s 15 points against the best D in football, but we were protecting a big lead most of the game.  And we all know the Bears don’t exactly “prevent scoring” when protecting leads.  That’s not really “our thing.”  But WAS never got closer than 13.  Like Volodymyr Zelensky (the new Ukrainian president), the Skins were in over their heads.

Ha Ha “That’s So Funny, The Last Time I Heard That, I Laughed So Hard, I Fell Off My Dinosaur” Clinton-Dix had 9 tackles, 2 deflections, 2 INTs (1 a pick-6!), and 96 yards on returns.  I mean, other than kicking a FG, or throwing a flag, what more can you ask one guy to do in one night?!  Eddy “Money (But Like Monopoly Money, With No Real Value)” Pineiro missed for the 1st time, but no one gave a shit.  Party because he was clearly hurt, and partly because he made his other attempt, and went 4 for 4 on PATs.  He’s now 10 for 11 overall.  And you’re lying if you thought you’d feel this good about our kicking game ever again – let alone in week 3 of this season.

Outlook
Don’t look now, but the Bears are on a win-streak!  At 2-1, though, we’re tied for last place.  But our division is 7-1-1 against teams OUTSIDE our division (the only loss coming last night when Philly beat GB), and we’re only ½ game back (which is nuts!).  So all things considered, Truby Tuesday doesn’t concern me right now.  He’s somewhat capable, and he doesn’t turn it over like the Butler.  And with our D, that should be enough to get us into the playoffs.  What we do there, however, isn’t important right now.  What is is our president being subjected to “the greatest witch hunt in our nation’s history,” people!

Announcer, with about 10 minutes left:  “And all of a sudden the Washington ***skins have life here at FedEx Field.” ~ Really?  If by “life” you mean “they’re lucky the NFL didn’t call the game on Slaughter Rule,” then yes, they had life…while they were down 13…without the ball…and with OUR defense resting on the sidelines.

Ha Ha, on his pick-6:  “It felt good.  I haven’t had a TD on defense since Little League.” ~ And he almost had two!
